One of the most prominent painting museums in Spain featuring a collection of Valencian Gothic painting and the works of Joanes, Espinosa, Ribera, Pinazo or Soralla, among others, that stand out as representative of the history of the city.
Housed in a historic building whose architect was the same as that of the Valencia Cathedral, and which has previously had different uses (from a Seminar College in its origin to a Military Hospital), the Museum of Fine Arts of Valencia is the second largest painting gallery in Spain. In addition to the works of the old Valencian masters, with an impressive Gothic painting room, it has among its collections works by Goya, Velázquez, El Greco, Murillo or Pinturicchio.
